I broke out the paint to do red lettering, but ended up painting the entire engine cover.

My truck is actually a White FX4. The red paint on my engine cover matches the red the FX4 sticker on the side of the truck....you can actually see the white paint on the fire wall behind the red engine cover.

Oh ok I see now lol. What kind of paint did you use? I'm sure it has to be high heat stuff?

I've now done several engine covers based on information I've found on various forums. At first I thought I needed to use a heat resistant paint, but after reading more I used the following recommendations: "After prep work (use cleaner to removal all grease and grim), then spray several coats of Adhesion Promotor, then spray multiple coats of Krylon Fusion Paint which works well on plastic, followed by several coats of a Krylon Clear Coat for the best results."

If you need more opinions, just google "Engine cover kylon fusion paint" and you'll find lots to reads on the topic. If you also click images after the "Engine cover krylon fusion paint" while your in google, you can see lots of engine cover pics where people used the Kylon Fusion paint. Good Luck.
