You'd think with it being Spring, and baseball started yesterday, fishing season is upon us that everyone would be just a little bit happier!

Or even Nascar. I was at Martinsville Speedway for the race yesterday. And now I have a hell of a sunburn.

If anyone is going to do any research on this go to NHTSA or Dept of Transportation DOT.

My advice - you have halogen housings - buy a good quality halogen bulb. PIAA for example...DOT approved!
A large well known manufacturer will not open themselves up for lawsuits. Also, Federal regulations are way out of date regarding current lighting options provided by vehicle manufacturers and lighting vendors. The last thing on the docket was the use of HID lamps by auto manufacturers and the complaints of other drivers on the road.

I want it brighter and to see better but I dont want to get flashed all the time? what if any are my o[ptions here. Im thinking LEDs as I see a lot of new cars with them and they arent too bad oncoming....a bit but not too bad..and I can always aim downwards a bit??? live in country so seeing is a mist with all the deer!!!!!!

Fello New Yorker..... Thanks for input.....
If you aim them down so you dont cause as much of a glare to oncoming traffic, you will cut down the distance the light reaches, which in your case probably defeats the purpose of putting the bulbs in, because you want distance for deer and other critters on the road. Your ideal remedy is a proper hid retrofit. Good distance, wide beam, light where its supposed to be.

If you're going to inform people at least give them accurate information so they can make an informed decision.
Not all HIDs are designed to be used in projector housings. The 2005 Mercury Montego, I had, came with factory HID and they were not projector housings. Also, the high beam was a separate halogen bulb that came on in addition to the low beams.

Yes, D2R. But they are still design the reflector to work with that. IS300's, Older Escalades and Navigators were that way too I believe.
