Default Pump out Pump in?? (6r80)

So I was curious if any of y'all have considered pumping out the pan (6r80) and refilling with fresh as a way to keep the fluid moderately fresh every oil change? I've got about 130k on my 2012 f150 5.0 4X4 xlt. I've checked the fluid and it's relatively fresh looking. Makes me wonder what previous owner done to have this clean of a fluid in the trans. Pan drop and new filter fluid?? Stupid trans flush crap?? I've already bought a case of LV. Wife's fusion requires it too. But was curious if anyone has pumped out and pumped in fluid to keep up with the maintenance.

Dorman makes a pan with drain plug for less than $30. I probably gonna go this route with new filter when I get closer to 100k miles.

and do drain/fills every 25k miles or so after that.

I'm most likely buying it also. Have it in my cart on Amazon. Was just curious if anyone has done something like a pump out and replace fluid, considering the filter is just a screen. The paint on the inside of the dorman pan does worry me a little bit. If the atf weakens it's bond, it'll surely wreak havoc on the already finicky 6r80

I think I've seen comments occasionally here that people did that. I plan to, but not at enough miles to bother yet. Probably before winter. The word "Dorman" worries me greatly about that product.

My pump setup works great for things like that.

Actually, now that I think about it, I've just about hit 30k miles since the dealer swapped some transmission oil. Time to shop for the LV.

I guess I never thought about the paint on the inside but that's an easy enough fix with a liquid stripper.

Try the search function, this has been discussed many times. If you're going to pump the fluid, you might as well pull the pan and change the filter. Super easy to do once the oil is out. If you want to dump and fill, you can then install the Dorman pan with a drain plug on it. I suspect keeping that filter clean is is probably better than throwing clean oil at a dirty old filter, so I didn't bother. I will just drop the pan and fill next time I go in mine. I will also replace the lead frame while I am in there.

For sucking the fluid out, I used something like this

It hooks up to an air pressure source and you just pull the trigger. Take the brake bleed nipple off the end of the hose and work that long tubing into the trans fill plug. Fill, dump, repeat. There may be better extractors out there.

You should do a write up on the lead frame replacement. I been looking into it. Just haven't had any problems yet (fingers crossed)
