PTM Grille Surround
I used a wax/grease remover first to get rid of all the gunk. After that give it time to dry (30-60 minutes) then I put down a coat of adhesion promotor (DOESNT MIX WELL WITH WAX/GREASE REMOVER) then primed with self-etching primer, sand with 1000 grit, prime, sand again, then multiple light coats of base. After that, I used clear and lightly sanded (2000 grit) after a light coat of clear. Used products from AutomotiveTouchUp.

I posted the link of my how to, earlier in the thread. But, always sand/scuff, I recommend bulldog adhesion promoter, EPOXY primer is key, then color and clear. I've done this process on numerous muscle cars, my own grille, and countless emblems for people on this forum.
I just know etch is not designed to go over anything but bare steel. And does not stay well when there is a barrier coating like adhesion promoter in between. Not trying to rain on your job, it did come out nice. Just giving you a heads up. I just know a lot about painting chrome, I based a whole business around it
