Default Programmer/Tuner questions

So I'm thinking about adding a tuner/programmer to my 13' 5.0. However I just bought the 7yr/125,000 mi. warranty. If I were to buy one and something were to happen to my truck, is it possible to return it to stock and take it out without the dealer knowing? I've heard that they can find out in the computer, and then I've also heard that there is no way of telling. any help would be appreciated!

They can find out if it's been tuned if they look hard enough.

They usually compare the date of the latest flash in the computer to the oasis data in the Ford system and then they know that they did not flash the vehicle so...
