Default problems with key remote

My remote for unlocking and locking my truck is not working. So I need to use the key hole and when I do that my trucks alarm starts going off. I don't know why that happens if I'm using the trucks original key. Anyone has this problem?

What year is your truck? It might just have a dead battery in the key FOB

Ok. when you get in turn each key to the ACC position. One of them should say MyKey. That would be your primary key for all of your functions. Try the following:

1. Unlock the truck and get in, making sure you close your door.
2. Insert what you think should be your primary key and turn it to the "On" position to shut off the alarm.
3. Wait for all of the warning lights to go out.
4. Turn that key off and remove it
5. Insert the other key and turn it to the "On" position, but again do not start it.

Make sure you are looking at the screen. Something should come up to the effect of programming complete or programming did not work.

EDIT** I had to program my secondary key this way. The dealership I bought it from already had the MyKey set up as my primary key for the truck.

Thanks for the info... I will try that tomorrow for sure. I'm tired of hearing my truck honk everytime I open it with the key

I suggest following Manuellabour247's advice and sending us an update with the results. If this doesn't work, your dealership is the next best resource for advice on this.

Please keep us posted!
