Problems with 2013 ford my touch nav..

I know this is a little off topic but I've found a much simpler and easier to use navigation.
My F150 and my wifes Escape both have sync navigation. You have to have an address for it or go through all the telepromps to get navigation to a business. It's much to slow.
I have an android phone which includes Androids built in navigation.
I just go to the application menu and select "voice search". I then just tell it to get directions to business in the needed town, and then google maps comes up with the directions. I then select the navigation icon and have instant voice promped directions with a visual, real time screen showing the vehicle moving.
I did this all in 20 seconds as we needed to find a store right away. Sync would had taken about 5 minutes. Android is just so awesome. So if any of you have an Android phone, there's a simple solution when your mytouch needs a reboot.

Having read another thread about the latest update i discovered that i had the A3 SD card and others built the same time had the A4, i order this from the synch my ride website at 1030pm on Thursday and 1130am Friday morning FedEx dropped it off. I down loaded the latest update from the same website on to a clear USB key which took about 20 mins and have just finished updating it which took about 45 mins.
There are a few changes to the Nav buttons and it seems a bit quicker now.
Time will tell.
Hope you get it resolved, personally i would take it back to the dealer and get their opinion, these trucks aren't cheap so expectations are high and rightly so.

I have a 2013 Platinum 4x4. I put Fox coilovers on the front and 305/55/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. I have had issues with the nav since the bigger tires went on, and have had it to the dealer multiple times because of this. After the last trip, I was told by the tech that Ford has included tire size into the nav calculations. Has anybody else been told this? I think that's ridiculous because why would Ford take technology back 50 years on a new truck that is supposed of have all the latest tech in it. Just sharing what I've been told, still trying to get my nav to work. Sucks having a $55,000 truck that the nav doesn't work when you drive down the road.
I also think the tire size calculation excuse is just that because if that was true on a long trip I'd be off by considerably more than I am driving around town, and that's just not the case. On the 13 mile commute to work, my nav is off by about 1/4 mile, and on a trip from Houston to Dallas recently, it was never off by more than about that as well.
My truck also has the latest update and sd card, which actually made it worse than before although it did help with the iphone connectivity. Any help on what can be done would be appreciated. If I can't get it fixed Ford will be replacing my truck with a Raptor. Atleast then the nav should work since the bigger tires are on it from the factory.

Wow, Tommy1005, that's one of the lamest excuses I've ever heard a dealer try to peddle. That larger tires mess up the navigation. Really? How so?
I mean, tire size might impact total distance traveled by a trivial amount, and certainly not enough to mess up navigation. How does the navigation system know what tires you have on the truck?
Navigation system:"Oh no! He has 305s on, so my calculations are off by 0.08 miles" Bzzzt BRRRrrr (SYSTEM CRASH). I just don't buy it.

Hey thanks for all the replies. Love the truck, love the new black interior with the king ranch leather. Got one annoying rattle and a nav that is more lost than I am. Ecoboost seems nice. Mileage is not that impressive. I traded a 2011 FX4 with the 5.0 and a 7'' BDS with BMF/TRAIL combo. Got great deal.
Will miss the lifted truck look, but not all the headaches that go with it-

On a side note: My Nav was about 500' off to the right sense day one.. after they wiped / reinstalled MFT and put the new A4(?) card in it has worked great. Well, as good as any OEM Nav I've used.

King I have a 13 FX4 lifted with tons of mods. I have the EXACT same problem. Nothing to do with new roads etc. Its Ford's crappy sub par my touch and not sure if it has anything to do w/ the Microsoft Sync. Either way it thinks I'm on a side road tells me to turn on strange roads, into water etc. Its so screwed up I'm very close to making a GIANT stink with Ford and say here's your truck back, refund me all the money I put into it and keep it. My sister in law purchased a 13 explorer sport. She has same problem.
Keep me informed if you find a fix before I run mine into the dealership showroom.

Well its been over a month and Ford still can't give me a date on when I might get the global positioning sensor that they "think" will fix the problem. I am going to the dealer ship tonight and probably just ask them to replace the truck altogether. Its just not worth my time waiting around for what most likely won't fix it anyhow. Also noticed this weekend my nav switches what view or mode its is in all by itself. It won't stay in mode i put it in and won't show any icons anymore like gas station or restaurants ect. I can't get them back even in the options menu. And now the radio decides it does not want to turn on as well. Yesterday I turn on the radio and nothing. Push the on/off 5 or 6 times nothing. then like 10 minutes down the road it comes on.. pretty sweet.
