Default Problem with brake heat shield

Anyone else having problems with the front brake heat shields? I have had the tires off twice since I have owned the truck. Once when I leveled the truck and did a tire rotation, and once recently when I had a local tire shop rotate the tires. After each time the bottom section of the heat shield (where is curved out to cup the rotor) was bent into the rotor. It made a nasty scuffing sound until I found it.

I have never had this issue on a vehicle before. I would be mad at the tire place, but it happened to me too.

Anyone else having problems? I was thinking about trimming the shields. I am wondering if the 18" wheels make it easier to hit the shield since the inside of the rim is not much larger than the brake rotor/heat shield.

Thoughts?

Gotta be it. Unfortunately.....that's sorta operator error. Now that you know, I bet you'll just hold the rim tighter nxt time.
