Default Premium Grade Gas

This might be a stupid question, how much better fuel mileage will I get if I started putting that in my truck. I have a 2012 screw with the 3.7. I do not drive far for my daily commute probably 3-4 miles a day.

I filled my truck up with ethanol (89 octane) last Tuesday when I bought it. I was averaging 13.3 MPG (all in town driving). I had 1/4 of a tank yesterday and filled it with premium. I reset my MPG average and as of today I'm averaging 16.4 MPG. The cost is only 20 cents more for premium. I feel that's a small price to pay for 3 more MPG. I'm going to fill up with regular unleaded (87 octane) next and see if I get the same MPG as premium. No more ethanol for this guy.

Not trying to be a jerk but there was a recent post that discussed this in detail.

I searched and did not see it. I get tired of ppl who post comments that on different forums. How hard is it not to click on a certain topic and make an assine comment.

+1 The consensus is nothing is gained in normal driving. It does give me better mileage while towing, but the engine is working hard then. However, one tank means nothing so keep experimenting.

No reason to get all upset...all you had to do was ask.

I doubt you'll see that big of a gain. 93 octane is better for your engine, but if you are looking to save on fuel costs then I doubt paying the extra 20-30 cents/gallon will be offset by an increase in mileage.

Biggest difference maker for me in my 3.7 is taking it easy on the throttle. City driving I usually get around 16 mpg but if I accelerate like a granny I get around 18-19. On the highway I usually get around 21-22 driving 75-80ish, but if I set the cruise at 60 with the AC off I can get over 25.
