Looks good Wolf_FX4! It's a little time consuming, but worth it in the end.

Looks great. From having embarked on a few projects like these in the past I can surely appreciate the effort that went into this write up!

However, wayyyyy to expensive. I absolutely cannot fathom spending well north of a grand for bigger mirrors. Maybe if the regular powerfold's sold for a similar price I would consider it. (Hell I might just drive around mirror-less in that case though! $$$)

This is a great thread!

If it all works out I should be picking up a set of 2013 power fold/extend tow mirror takeoffs this Saturday.

I am excited for the power fold feature. That's the main reason I'm buying them. I don't care about the power extend feature and can just do that manually if need be. I will be looking to hook up the side markers though, and thanks to MrCdnVegas's writeup I should be able to do it. But I suck at wiring so we'll see.

To PTM the extra caps SGM or leave the black ones on, that is the question.

Is it easy to remove the caps to send away for painting?

I like the gloss back look, but you can never go wrong with PTM.

Caps seem fairly easy to remove. 1A's super duty PTM caps fit these mirrors which is nice because they're only like $55/pair. Quality seems very high too. I'll just slap the mirrors on with black caps to see how I like it, if I think I'd prefer sterling grey I'll take the spares for paint and con my paint guy into installing them lol

Good to know (regarding the 1A mirror caps)! Are these the exact ones you're talking about? I have a guy in Calgary who can paint a set for $60, so I may order up these caps and send them to him directly.

I do have gloss black window visors, and a gloss black hood protector, so it's not like the gloss black mirror caps won't match anything.

If anyone here has removed the mirror caps a brief writeup would be appreciated.

That's those, I'm going to keep gloss black for now reassess. I have a few cans of SGM kicking around might just do it myself
