Default Post holes??

I went to remove the covers from where I though post holes were and realized that there aren't holes cut in the bed caps for the posts... Has anyone made holes? I didn't think to look as I just assumed they were there.

I remember seeing people post about making the holes and the pockets were at the 4 corners.

I believe they are there on the 5.5 beds under the plastic. On the 6.5 beds they have the 4 covers at each corner.

So then I should be able to cut away the plastic and put hooks in then. Right?

Yes, you can trim the plastic side rail covers. I did this on my 2 previous F150 (2010 and 2013) 5.5' beds. Used a sharp box cutter to make the first rough cut then used a Dremel to make it look finished and it turned out great. Luckily my Superduty has the 6.75' and already has the cutouts you just pop out but it's really not a hard mod. Just take your time.

They will sell a lot of those……… many many OP's with short beds wanting tie downs! It's amazingly short sighted Ford decided to "screw over" so many buyers of short bed trucks! They what… figured no one hauls anything with them? Oh well looks like the bean counters once again were trying to save a few pennies………
