Is it Possible to Reprogram Fresh Air vs Recirculating Air Settings
Is there a way to reprogram the vehicle computer to be able to override the default air intake settings from factory? Impossible to select Recirculate when using defrost etc... There are times when driving in long tunnels or behind some foul smelling vehicle where I don't want outside air coming in and would like the freedom to choose on any setting. I take general offense having to submit to an engineer's take on what's best for me. My frickin' Honda lets me choose on any setting.
Thanks,
David

No. Defrost for example kicks in the A/C. Been that way in vehicles for years. However, you can then often hit the Recirculate button and override it.

Unfortunately you can't override it on defrost. You can temporarily override on other settings but it goes back to fresh air after a set time.

I think I heard you could unhook the control to the door for fresh air and make it stay closed....never messed with it tho.......give it a try.

I bought mine in January. Was cold as ****. First thing I noticed is that you can't run recirc on defrost mode. Idiotic. Then I noticed that in general, the heat sucks in these trucks. After playing around with it, I discovered that in defrost+feet mode you CAN use recirc and that defrosts the windows faster than pure defrost mode. It's the best my truck will do. I have to admit, the HVAC is one of the things that really ticks me off about my F150.

I've never seen a car that allowed recirc with defrost.
