Default Please help! Tranny issue???

I’ve got a 2010 f150 with the 4r75e. The truck shifts through the gears fine. I can’t drive it without the overdrive off though. When in overdrive, it seems like it kicks into neutral and just revs. When driving with overdrive on, it works fine. I replaced the torque converter hoping that was the cause but it didn’t fix it. Any suggestions on what to try next?

I read your post a couple times, doesnt make sense. Try again. But it sounds like you need transmission work that a trans specialist should look at preferably a dealer trans tech who has seen hundreds of the same issues.

Did you mean:

"When driving with overdrive -- OFF -- the transmission works fine." ?

Is your shift indicator broken or not correctly positioned?

Is it actually popping out while moving or when put into O it just sits there rev-ing up? If you go one gear to the left, reverse, can you fell it kick in and move the truck?

I know the indicator breaking is not uncommon. One is currently broken in my neighbour's 2001 F-150 and my 1999 Ranger (soon to be replaced $10 part). I think it is broken in his 2006 Expedition too.
