I think I also read somewhere on Fords Web Site that the Platinum Has a slightly different suspension for that more luxurious ride. I do agree that the KR is more of a "Mans Truck".

If I ever had the $ to be making that kind of decision [dream] it would not be an easy one for me. I love the look of the interior on the King Ranch and the detailing, but not so much the grille or the 2-tone paint combinations they offer. On the Platinum I love the exterior styling - the retractile running boards, wheels and yes, dare I say it SailorDon, even the pimp panel! Lets face it, both are great looking, very luxurious trucks but just the little differences that I would notice daily would probably make me lean towards Platinum...

I'd probably have to weigh in on the 'man truck' debate and say neither... men drive a well-optioned XLT

Default It had to be Tuxedo Black

The colors of my truck had to match the colors of my Harley's. That would be Black and Chrome. (not very original, but very "old school").

The KR is two colors plus chrome. I don't think it comes in Black and Black and Chrome. Therefore it was F-150 Platinum for me.

I think I got the best color match possible.

The platinum interior is 100% leather. If you get a lariat you get the leather/vinyl combination.

I never really looked at the KR because I didnt like the two tone paint at all and to me the interior was not attractive, the leather looked almost red. I was looking at a fairly decked out Lariat vs. the platinum and in the end the platinum won out because the interior was much nicer, nicer wheels, and power running boards. Also the price from the loaded up lariat to the platinum wasnt that much of a difference and both trucks were similarly outfitted(loaded lariat vs. base platinum+sony stereo).

That looks great with the hog sitting there! The truck is so clean without the 4X4 stickers. The way that looks is exactly why I also got the black Platinum. And no, you don't get "part" leather seats...

Absolutely right. With Platinum you get full leather seats with heating and cooling. I hit the "seat cool" button accidentally one 30 degree morning. Just about froze my butt off before correcting my mistake!

Thanks for the compliment.

It took me a week of "dead battery syndrome" to learn that the stock Motorcraft battery is not up to the Accessories drain on the battery. I solved that problem with a DieHard Platinum battery. Now my truck is "more awesome".

And just so nobody gets the wrong idea, my '09 Harley Davidson Street Bob is more awesome than my truck. (But the truck is better off-road.)

I ordered a Lariat in the KR two tone colors. Always loved the KR two tones. (...and leather) Platinum is sweet as well but a touch too 'Lincoln' for me. It's not you, it's me LOL.
