Default plastic on the rim of the bed...stuff

sorry, don't really know what to call it...

anyone know how the black plastic liner on the rim of the bed is attached? the right side of mine is coming loose near the tail gate (you can pry it up)...

ill be taking it in to get fixed soon, but i was curious... because it seems to just be glued on...

also - if any of you get line-x and have the bed extender, make sure they don't plug the little hole in the tailgate that secures it!! have to get that fixed too :-/

I haven't checked on the new truck but on the '07, the bedrail caps had tabs (on the underside) to keep it in place. If you look along the underside area on the pickup box you'll see what I mean.

If the Line-X shop wasn't astute enough to plug the bed extender holes before spraying, they probably broke one of the tabs on the bed cap piece as well.

I think the bedrail caps are slightly defective. I had the same problem with my drivers side one. It kept lifting near the tailgate. I took it to Ford, they replaced it and it seemed to remedy the problem for about a week. Now it's doing it again. Maybe the weather, who knows.

Guess I don't have to worry about this as I'm putting a shell on the back.
