Default Plasti Dip Question

Ok guys.

I know this has been answered before but for some reason I'm still confused.

I want to plastidip my f150 emblems. I have seen some guys mask off around the emblems, while others just spray without masking.

For the guys who just spray and peal, what keeps it from pealing off the emblems? Did you run a small knife line around the perimeter of the emblems before pealing?

Thank you

I say save yourself the hassle of over-spray by doing what I did and surround the emblem with painters tape and some newspaper. Only takes a few minutes of your time to do each side. This was my plasti-dip saturday,

That was the method I was going to do. Did you have to cut out the tape around the emblems with a razor? or were you able to cut and stick it?

Do what he suggested and you just peel the outer part away from the emblem and it'll peel no problem while keeping the plasti dip on the emblem.

I taped all around first, going a couple tape widths wide, then taped on some news paper. After it was dry I took a razor blade and carefully traced around behind the emblem to make sure no plastidip wanted to come off with the tape.

^^^this. Tape it off about an inch around the emblem. They key is putting on at least 4 coats. Once it's dry just remove the tape and peel it off of your truck paint. It will stay on the emblem. Then get a toothpick and remove the section in the middle of the "0".

I sprayed a coat about very 10 minutes. Mine was totally dry less than hour after final coat but weather probably plays a big factor.
