Pioneer Touch Screen Recommendations for 11' FX4
Hey All,
I'm looking to upgrade my stock radio to a Pioneer Touchscreen. I heard the pioneer app touchscreen has problems. Does anyone have any recommendations for Pioneer touchscreen with nav and possible DVD player for a 2011 FX4?
Let me know and if you have pictures of it installed

Hey rizzy...i just went through this with my commuter car. I wanted a DD radio, that i could have navigation, and CD and use my phone for calls.
I ended up picking up a Pioneer 4100NEX. i also use an iphone...so with this radio it gives me two option...when i connect through the usb cord, the Pioneer has Car Play, and can technically use the phones Navigation for this. its not perfect...bc you cant pinch/zoom, u have to use bottons on the radio to do that...so things like that.
the other option is to hook your phone up through the HDMI cable...this way you basically show your phone screen on the radio, but have to do everything on your phone ..the pioneer just becomes a mirror of your phone then.
Or pay almost $200 more for a 5200nex and get the nav built in.
My truck is on a whole different level... i use a tablet and go digital into a helixpro..i also run a 3way up front...

I went with the AVH4200NEX. Bought it off amazon with the 4 year warranty (for 32$). So far no complaints.

Do any of you using the 4200 notice that Carplay doesn't always work right away with Pandora or spotify? sometimes i have to unplug it and re plug it in for it to actually pull up my playlists in spotify. I started using bluetooth more bc it connected quicker and more reliable sometimes then plugging in and using Carplay.

I don't believe any of these posted have NAV built in. You have to buy a separate GPS module that costs like $300 bucks I think. Or you can spend around $700 on a model that has it built in.
I went with the AVH-x490bs over the 4200nex for a few reasons. Mainly that it was $200 cheaper. It doesn't have every feature the 4200nex has, such as the optional idatalink module that shows you what's going on with you vehicle, right there on the touchscreen. It doesn't have HDMI input or HD radio. As far as I can tell, those are the main differences between the two. Those weren't big enough things for me, especially if I had to buy the idatalink module separately for more money; though it does look like an awesome feature.
The x490bs has AppRadioOne instead of Carplay, I don't have an iPhone and my Android isn't compatible with all of that, so I can't speak for how well that works. This unit does work with the optional GPS module, so I can always add that if I ever want to. It has Spotify and Pandora as well. For me, it has every feature I need
For NAV, you're probably looking at spending at least $600, just fyi. Might be worth it to some, for me I couldn't justify it

No mine does not have nav. I have a smartphone with nav. Don't see it on my radio.
