Hi
My wifes 09 escape has this problem on the sync/phone
My 09 f150 sync and volume works incredible
Dealer told us it may have to do with any aftermarket remote starter
escape has a remote start
f 15o does not have
Just thought this might help

Hey guys, it may be your phones. Did you know Sync has it's own forum? It's called "Owner to Owner"...and once you sign up, you have access.

Here's a link to it:

http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pf...tag=fordsyncmb

This is what I found on the Sync forum, as I was having the same problem...and so was everyone on there, except one guy who had the answer.

He said "This is actually not a Sync issue. During a call, use the volume on your mobile phone. The iPhone is a good example, the default Bluetooth volume is much too low. After pairing your iPhone, make a call - and during the call, turn up the volume on your iPhone. Some mobile phones have 3 volume controls: Ringer Volume, Call Volume, and Bluetooth Volume."

I think if your phone doesn't have the "bluetooth volume" setting, you're screwed. But, I have noticed there are a lot of Bluetooth devices with the same issue.

I totally agree with you guys though...Ford/SYNC/Microsoft/Whoever should've put an option to adjust the default volume on Bluetooth. If Toyota can do it with this Prius, Ford should dang sure be able to do it.

I have an iPhone and did this. It helped but I still find the Bluetooth volume to be much lower than the radio volume. Once I turn the volume up I can hear fine but I just wish the phone and radio would match each others volume level. I will say when I switch back to the radio from the phone call the radio isn't really loud.

This and that damn autoplay bluetooth audio are the only two things that really annoy me about Sync. I shut the autoplay feature off but it STILL starts the music on my damn iPhone.

Good to know, thanks for posting. I will try and set my iphone in the morning.

Finally got my Xm antenna ran through the firewall tonight. Finish the radio mount tomorrow night.
So many mods, so little time.

A PITA, but if you choose "Line" on media, the stupid auto play won't kick in.

Anyone with a blackberry figure this issue out yet? I have to have all windows and moonroof closed and A/C fan on low so I can communicate.

I believe that this is a design feature of the Sync/OEM Audio system in the F150 (probably all vehicles). When switching between any devices (bluetooth phone, USB iPod, radio), the volume seems to auto adjust to a relatively low setting. I imagine that someone thinks that this is a "safety" feature.

well i am grateful that the phone volume isnt transferred to the radio when you hang up. because it would totally blow you out if it was.

I have a Blackberry, and don't have too much trouble. I have to make sure that the volume on the phone is up, and I do have to turn up the volume on the radio a bit, but have no trouble getting sufficient volume to carry on a conversation even with the window down.

Make sure that your A/C vents aren't pointing towards your rear-view mirror. The mic is up there, so any blowing in that general area is picked up by the mic.
