Default Performance Chip help...

I have a 2009 F150 XLT and I was looking into getting a performance chip for it. I would like to increase my MPG and HP. Also is there a model out there that will alloy for upgrades to the engine ie. Throtal body spacer and K&N Ram air intake or should I put that on before I place the chip?
Any input would be great…
Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by performance chip. If referring to a $70 ebay style chip, they are junk and don't work. It's a .25 cent resistor chip in a pretty plastic box that just tries to trick your timing.

Any decent brand tuner/programmer is gonna run you $300 on up for a new one but will actually work and give you real world gains.

Don't take my word for it, search the forum here, these threads pop up about once a week with same results.

What engine do you have?

SCT and Edge are the two best brands for the F series trucks usually, we have a massive sticky around here somewhere on the forum with tons of info on both on it.
