Pedal commander
Looking into purchasing the pedal commander for my 2013 3.5 F-150. Just wondering if it’s worth the 300$ before purchasing or should I invest some more and by a tuner instead? My pick up is stock and looking into adding a few mods to it.

I have had a tuner for a couple years and just picked up the pedal commander a little bit ago.
They do different things (the tuner CAN do what the pedal commander can do, it just takes whatever company you get your tunes from to make the mods....which can take some turn around time). I went through this with 5star and was never 100% satisfied after like 4 revisions.
1) Tuner increases performance. You will get more HP, more TQ, and better shifts. You WILL NOT get better gas mileage. Don't believe that crap.
2) A pedal commander changes pedal percentages based on your pedal position, so you only have to push the pedal maybe 20% to get 50% pedal. I've found this has pretty much eliminated my ~2-4 second hesitation from stop. It has a more noticeable feel compared to the tuner and can be changed on the fly. It is actually A LOT of fun. But you won't get more HP, more TQ, or better shifting.
Most tunes are written for the equipment you currently have on your truck. If you buy a tune, then install something else, you only get lifetime tunes if you purchased that new thing from that company. So 5 star or mpt will only update their tune for free if you bought your new intake from the respective tuner. Otherwise you pay to get your tune updated. So be aware of that.
I would personally wait and upgrade what I can without a tune, then get the tune when needed. Or get the tune and realize you don't need to upgrade that stuff and get the pedal commander for the fun feelings.
