Question PATS and key removal

I know the anti-theft system can keep a truck from starting, but can it also affect key removal? I am unable to remove the key and the anti-theft light is blinking. I've been able to start the truck and drive it, but can't remove the key once I've put it in park. Is the anti-theft light just a coincidence?

just a coincidence! give us a little more info such as,,, is it a new key by chance,,, had you noticed it getting a little harder to put in and pull out before this happened? I would think you either have a bad key or ignition switch. There is nothing that locks the key in, but if a set latch breaks or the key point got bent it can get stuck. take a look at the picture.. if one of the pins (set latch) breaks and you get the key past that point putting it in, then it can jam the key from coming back out!
