Default Passenger Tire rub

Just purchased and installed some cooper discoverer ATP"s from discount tire. Now I get rubbing when wheels are turned and locked left, but not right, ,both forward and reverse. Its only rubbing on the passenger tire. Stock size tires. Did not have this issue with the street tires I replaced. Anyone experienced this with this particular tire and if so, what was your solution? 2012 Platinum. Thanks

What size are they?

Grab some pictures of where it's rubbing if you can. Simple solution would be to just cut the plastic out assuming it is hitting the plastic fender liner, but it's odd that they're rubbing if they're truly the stock tire size.

Size is 275/55 R20. May not be stock size, I just assumed they were. Nevertheless, I think it will be an easy fix. Will grab some pics when I can. Thanks for replying!

Sure enough, that is the stock size. Seems weird that they'd be rubbing, even if they were a size or two bigger. Did you change wheels at the same time? Are you certain all four tires are the same size (unlikely, but possible)? Any suspension changes?

No problem! That's what I'm here for. Hopefully I can help you out.

No wheel or suspension changes. Literally just a tire swap. I will look at the actual size of that tire, maybe they put the wrong size there but like you said, unlikely. I bet some pics will help. Stay tuned....

This actually happened to my wife 4 times, in 3 of those cases all four tires on her car weren't even the same size.

Was rubbing the plastic fender well in 2 places. A couple trims and I'm good to go. I'd post pics but its pretty embarrassing how easy this was, didn't even really warrant a post lol. Thanks guys.

It's an easy fix, but the question still remains of why? Why is the stock size rubbing anything?

I wonder if he has mud flaps. I leveled my truck and went up in size to 285/55/20. They rubbed my factory mud flaps on full lock, left and right, on the passenger side. I trimmed the back side of the mud flap and it went away.

Mine's a different year, but I don't think the wheel wells changed between our body styles.
