Question Passenger side A/C unable to regulate

With all of the knowledgeable people on this site I was wondering if any of you have ever had this issue or have know of a solution. For the last few months when ever the air temperature outside drops into the low 70's, usually in the evening the air on the passenger side of the cab blows cold cold air onto the floor of the cab and also the defrost. There is no regulating it. The passenger side can be turned up to 80 degrees and nothing, even if we turn off the dual temperature control and just use the normal auto setting or even set it manually, it still does the same, blowing cold air. If I turn off the air and only use the fan that helps, but the humidity in Florida year round can make doing that almost impossible without having fogged up windows. I live in Florida half the year and Illinois the other, so we are getting ready to head home for the holidays and I am worried that once we get up north and need the heat, there may not be any. And I really don't relish the idea of a frozen wife bundled up like an eskimo. Any help you guys can give would be most appreciated, and my wife a little happier.

Thanks!!

Little additional information: It is a 2010 Lariat screw with auto HVAC.

I say let her drive and you bundle up happy wife happy life

I have nothing constructive to add besides the obvious blend door operation.

Yea, I dug a little deeper on the internet and that certainly seems to be a possibility. I was hoping for an easy DIY fix.
