Pampering the Platinum just got a little easier...
Picked this DUB by Meguires wheel cleaner up and it actually works! Looks like a gimmick but man, I'm impressed. And BTW, I have a thread in the cleaning section already but that doesn't get any traction so I figured I'd give my fellow Platinum/ late model F150 guys a heads up about this stuff. I got a bumb elbow and sure did appreciate not having to scrub my wheels this evening!
Ok, here are pics I took earlier of this stuff in action. And just to have everything out there, I did drive through a touchless car wash on the way home but in all honesty they don't get into the insides/spokes of the wheels so sure they weren't as dirty as the first time I used the product but the wheels still had a moderate amount of brake dust on them.
So, spray on dry, cool to the touch wheel and let sit for 3-5 minutes. I let them soak in for five each wheel. Notice the neon green coloring...
Next, after five minutes the solution has turned a dark purple letting you know they're clean... Again, my wheels weren't that dusty/dirty. BTW, the first time I used the stuff my entire wheel turned purple because it was dirty/dusty.
Finally, rinse off wheels. I didn't touch the wheels with anything but a strong stream from the hose. Dried them afterwards with a microfiber(green) towel and had little to no dirt on it.
Just for the record, I'm wearing a red tshirt and that's what you're seeing in the last pic. Not left over product. And on another note, the stuff doesn't seem to clean the tires at all.
Man that had a lot of BTW's and notes attached... Anyways, hope this thread makes your lives a tad bit easier and trucking experience a little more enjoyable.

it would definitely save me time if it works that good. Right now I have to scrub the rims twice - once while washing, then again with a dry towel after driving it right after washing it because that's the only way to eliminate all the water spots.
I love Meguiars products.

That green liquid looks exactly like the one they have at my local car wash bay. It's a wheel cleaner and exactly the same color as your picture. It does a great job. That brake dust is corrosive to aluminum wheels over time.

How does this compare to the other Meguiars wheel cleaners that have been around for awhile? They have different ones for aluminum/chrome/all-types.
Is Dub an all-wheel cleaner?

Pressure washer at about 1700psi, medium blast, take off the center (plastic) caps first.
30 seconds per wheel. Gleaming. The Plat aluminum wheels are highly polished ... smooooth!

I got a phone call the other day, one of my friends saying "dude come over and try this stuff on your wheels!!" I laughed and said Ok. Went over and tried it out and I was impressed with how clean my wheels were with pretty much no effort.

Try the waterless wash and wax anywhere spray. I can wash my entire truck and apply a coat of wax without water in about 30 minutes. I also use it on the wheels and they shine. Just use a very high quality microfiber.
