Default Painted grille badge

Had a little down time at work today so I popped off my f150 grille badge and painted it to further remove more chrome from my truck. Pics don't do it justice, it's actually a charcoal gray but looks more silver in the pic. Now I just need to get some black housing headlights!

OP, That looks awesome, great work!

I had some custom black & chrome overlays made for my 2011 front, rear and hubs. Truck was dusty when these were taken. The guy made me swear to secrecy, so I can't give out names, sorry.

Yeah I did the grille too and the bumpers. Sanded the ish outta the grille with 80 grit paper on an orbital sander and by hand in the tight spots and had the chrome finish sand blasted off the bumpers. Then epoxy primer, sealer, base coat, and clear on everything. The insides of the bumpers are done in gravel guard and cleared too after they were sealed. Hope this answers your question. Just about to finish the first winter since I painted it all and not a rock chip in sight! Thanks for the compliment.

The badge just pops off from behind (two 10mm speed nuts and a flat screw driver to release the clips) then sanded it, sealed it and painted it black. Next was the fun part, I didn't have a stencil to mask off any thing so I covered the FORD with a strip of 2" masking tape and hand cut it out with a razor blade and used fine line tape for the oval. Then sprayed a light coat of a charcoal gray I had left over. I unmasked the oval and FORD and cleared the whole thing and ta-da! New badge and less chrome haha glad you like it!
