It happened on my wifes 08 Accord coupe. I touched it up. But before I put the light back in I filed the edge of the light just a little. The red hung over the body of the light so there was room to file it down. Problem solved!

Same here, you would think the dealership would remove the plastic that's rubbing the paint off before repainting for the third time lol.

Hey thanks for the hot tip. Why the hell didn't we think of that!? Oh that's right...we did. 1st paint job was done under warranty, but believed to be from the customer reinstalling the taillight after replacing a bulb, per Nissan, so all it got was paint. We got the car with no taillights, and told, fix those scratches and send it back to us. We never dealt with him the 1st time. 2nd time we actually dealt with the customer, and found he was right so we trimmed the light. But that caused it to rub in a different spot. 3rd time got 3m tape.

Don't take off your door panels or you'll really be pissed!

Here a photo it's not too bad once I cleaned around it. Touched it up and filed the light a little. It should work I think. Had to do both sides.

Thanks for the reply.
