Default Paint 2009 XLT 18" wheels black

I have plastidipped my chrome 18" XLT wheels. I left a strip of chrome in the middle of each "branch" of the wheel. I just did this to see what it would look like. Do you guys think I could sand and paint the chrome to make it a little more permanent? I'm new to this so sorry if this is the wrong area to post this

I know this is a hella old post, but I think it looks super awesome from the pic. I was just sitting here thinking that's exactly what I wanna do. How did it hold up? Do you have any closer pics?
