Clear the KAM if your scanner can, if not you can do so by disconnecting the battery for a minimum of 15 mins, turn the key to the run position to dissipate any stored voltage. That will reset and put the PCM into learning mode, recheck the throttle values afterward.
Also you have to check the manifold O-rings with the engine completely cold, once it warms up even just a little bit the plastic will swell enough to seal. Have had a few where I just had to take a leap of faith and replace them which in turn caused the code to not reset, the rings are cheap enough and not all that difficult to change.

Yes, ya gotta actuate all the solenoids to isolate the intake manifold as much as possible, the purge solenoid, evap system etc... been a long time and I'm going from memory, the shop manual (PCED) section should have the procedure outlined, use the flow charts associated with the 171/174 codes. We had a special tool kit for such tests that came with large plugs for the throttle body opening, tail pipe and such. I imagine a ziplock bag and some rubber bands or clamps of some sort would also work.

Where did you find this? I'm about to go blind looking at exploded diagrams and must have missed this. I did a general search for ESM in the WOrkshop tab and it didn't find anything.

If there is one, it's invisible or inside the engine LOL. Wouldn't be the first time Ford threw me a curveball.

I'm beginning to believe our engine don't have one. I can't find it in the manual or at ford parts.com. I grabbed a step stool climbed over my engine and looked everywhere it would normally be and nada, I slid up under with a creeper to get an eyeball on the back of the motor, nada, even grabbed my borescope to look between the firewall and engine, nada.
If there is one, it's invisible or inside the engine LOL. Wouldn't be the first time Ford threw me a curveball.

The odds of both O2 sensors going bad are astronomical, how many miles do you have on it again?
