Default OSS Location?????

'13 F-150, 4x4, 5.0L

Started getting the wrench light show up on the dash and the speedometer would go out. Also at times have problems wanting to go in to gear. If I turn the truck off and on again it usually fixes the problem. But the truck is obviously not shifting correctly.

Took it to shop and they said output speed shaft sensor was the code. And I needed to take it to a transmission shop because the sensor is located INSIDE of the transmission. From everything I can find it says it is on the OUTSIDE.

Can anyone confirm where the sensor is located on a '13?

This is a recall for 2011-2012, the NHTSA is investigating whether to expand to 2013. The recall is to replace the entire lead frame. When I had a similar problem, they just replaced the connector. Not sure mine is fixed.

The lead frame is inside the transmission. The OSS is on the lead frame. So, they are correct.

But, it probably isn't the sensor, it's probably the whole lead frame. Look at post #2 of that link above. You might want to search for that recall on 2012 models to familiarize yourself. We are having the same problem.

Default Lead Frame connector replacement. Truck won't start

I replaced my lead frame connector after the same issues of the speedometer going out and truck wanting to downshift at cruising speeds. After I replaced it the truck will not crank up because it does not recognize the truck as being in park. I turn the key over one click and the park light is lit up orange, turn it all the way over and it is not lit up anymore. The range switch is locked in I believe because when i shift the gears it moves in and out to every gear( PRNDM12). I turn the key over and hear a humming noise under the truck as if there is power going to the transmission. I wanted to ask if anyone may have had this issue or if anyone could offer any tips? Thanks
