Ordering Truck and Future Rebates
I want to order a truck this weekend, but some of the current rebates expire in early August. The dealer says we will negotiate the price and whatever rebates are in effect during delivery of the truck will be applied then (in 6-8 weeks).
He says I take the risk that the $2,500 Cash to Customer (expires 8/2/2010), $1,000 Cash to Customer (expires 10/4/2010), and $1,000 Cash to Customer for financing with FMCC (expires 8/2/2010) may expire and not renew by the time I take delivery in 6-8 weeks.
How real is this risk? I'd think the rebates on the 2010s will get better as we get deeper in the year, but I've never ordered a vehicle before so am a little put off by his "you take the risk" comment.
Thanks!
