I agree, its not much harder to burn a cd, but through the usb would be way better.

be sure you call your dealer first. i took mine in for an update and they had not updated their computers. they updated within the week and then i got it done. call first, though. it might save you a trip.

It would take for ever to burn a few thousand songs to a cd and then copy them to the the hard drive in the truck.

I actually havent tried it yet, but does it have to be in regular cd format for it to transfer or can you just put MP3's on the cd and have it work? if it does then it wouldnt be hard to put a few thousand mp3's on a DVD and transfer them.

I am almost positive the only way to do it is by writing them to a cd (and it has to be in a certian format) then it rips it to the HD. The whole Sync Hard Drive is a waste in my opinion.

SYNC V3.1

AR3T-14D544-AE

is the LASTEST, most recent version of SYNC.

you can go into www.syncmyride.com (if you registered).
and go into UPDATE AND CUSTOMIZE
and then Check your SYNC history
SYNC Download & Installation History for this vehicle

It will tell you the last version that was reported installed in your vehicle.

you DO NOT have to take your vehicle to a dealer to update. You can do it with a BLANK, FAT32 formatted USB DRIVE!

follow the instructions EXACTLY as on the SYNC page, and you're done!
