Thanks for the replies.
The oil cap was left squeezed in between the battery and the cable . The tech left it there after changing the oil. I will ask them to put it in writing but the will probably resist.

X3 It costs me more money and of course my own time to do it myself, but it's worth it to me to get under my vehicle once and a while and look things over. I can't remember when or if I ever paid for an oil change.

Lol, I don't think anyone who owns a Ford truck can ever have their man card pulled.

I used to change my own oil, but for the extra 20 bucks to have it done by someone else, it's just not worth it. I stand watch over the oil guys to make sure something stupid doesn't happen like this horror story.

That might be true in a quick oil change shop, but in a regular FORD dealership, you're usually NOT allowed past a certain point in the service area, and you're definately NOT allowed to be standing in the bay where your truck is having its oil changed.

True, but it doesn't mean you can't pop the hood, check that the filler cap is tight and check the oil level on the dipstick. I made the quickie change place drain a quart when they overfilled it last year.

I must have a very good relationship with my dealer. I am right under there with him while it's on the lift (on occasion).
