Toyota is releasing a performance package for their tacoma, tundra and 4runner models to rival the raptor.

I don't own a Raptor but... I have a suspicion it will be ok

can't be worse than Chevy's take in the "raptor" game.

I feel like Toyota could have done more with the "TRD" from the beginning rather than putting upgraded suspension on something.

About time more truck brands follow Ford and Dodge's lead in the Off Road package offerings. Competition always favors the consumer! Besides the SVT Raptor I always liked the RAM Power Wagon. I opted for a FX4 because my area is not big truck friendly and didnt want to have to always park in the far end of the lot...lol.

Article says it's really really cool! And that it's much more than a wheels and sticker package. But honestly, all they put on it is a leveling kit, larger shocks and larger tires. Something that we, ourselves, already do. The real magic that's in the Raptor and no other truck (other than MAYBE the ram runner) is the physically longer suspension arms and rear end to allow for much greater range of travel, upgraded diffs, and a much more robust computer logic that allows for all sorts of different modes to accommodate for different driving styles and terrain.

I really wonder how can TRD call this a Raptor competitor. When put through the paces, it will surely fail.

Toyota needs to retire that old 4.0 V6. It's underpowered and old as dirt

And the gas mileage sucks for a midsize truck with a v6. I get the same mpg's in my screw 5.0 4x4 that my coworker gets with a extended cab Tacoma v6 4x4 .
