Yes, I have the touch screen navigation. My salesman provided the A5 SD card that contains the latest version of maps, but everything I find online shows my system has to update with a disc. Just wondering if my model year only updates with a disc or it my system has a SD card slot somewhere...

I think you should have an SD card slot in the center console. Check in there. My truck didn't have factory nav. My wife has a 2013 edge and the SD card is in the center console.

2012 needs a disc, sd card will not work. 2013 and up with my ford touch uses the sd card. I would sell the card on ebay or something then buy the discs.

Hey ProAktion...

Nice Install. My old man just picked up a 2010 F150 Lariat with Sony stereo and reverse emblem camera routed to the rear-view camera.

He wants to install the factory 8" screen.

Maybe this is a loaded question, but can you provide some direction as to what he needs? Actually, what I need since I will be doing the swap.

I am not new to Ford factory nav units - Any info you can provide would be a great help.

Thanks,

Hey can150. I looked into the factory 8" screen install as well. It is big job. The trucks computer will need programmed and the entire center stack replaced. Not worth the money. Thats why I used the 6.5" unit. A nice challenge on the wiring part but works great. If you do the same as I did you won't need much, just a little bit of wiring skills and hand tools.

since you already have the system, where did you tap into the rear camera wire at? I have a wire manual for my truck but figured you did it, I'd just ask I plan to pick one of these up soon

Hey. Behind the drivers side kick panel is a harness that carries the 2 wires from the rear camera. I just spliced into them there so both the mirror and the nav screen function together. I will have to research which wires. Its been a while since I completed the install.

Ok If I get to it sooner than plan I will research it in my wiring book. this book has helped me in many ways but atleast I have an idea where to start. Also I saw some kits switch out the steering wheel radio controls with the upgrade. did you have to ???

Na. The kit came with new button group for the RH side of the steering wheel, but the factory buttons work like they should. My truck is a 2012 FX4 and had everything including Sony Premium sound system, just no factory NAV.
