The other issue that I had with the OE flaps was that they didn't have enough flex and ended up breaking 3 in my '04 when off roading.

I've had good luck with the Husky contoured mud flaps.Installed 4 sets on different f150's, they fit good and flex for better durability. However they may not install as easy as the Weather Techs.

Ah! Interesting. Why can't they just make (1) running board per style (S Crew, S Cab, etc.) and be done with it? Imagine the production costs of all the different r-boards!

Because the Engineers just draw it up, and say looks good! Dont think they always put alot of thought into the function of half this ****! Alot of corner cutting, yah know.....

You have to look at the DuraFlap. They are expensive, but they fit great! They go all the way up to the top of the rear fenderwell, so nothing gets past them to the bumper. They are just wide and long enough to protect your truck, and you can get extra long to protect your boat. You do not drill any holes in your truck metal to install them. They are guaranteed not to crack, split, peel, fade or rust.(quoted from their web site)
