Do you seriously have to kill everyone's post with your safety police comments? Do me a huge favor and don't provide your 2¢ on any of my posts.

There are just way too many variables to really say why one truck gets better/worse mph than any other. That's why I track my mph so meticulously, any anomalies will alert me to potential problem with my truck. That being said, some changes in mpg can be accounted for, winter driving for example. I just drove almost 400miles to TN for Thanksgiving weekend, all hwy, and I'm at 19.4mpg. The temp drop and winter gas can account for the 2mpg drop vs every other trip to TN I have taken.
If you really suspect that your truck is performing poorly you can take your mileage records to your service dept. My father has used his records in the past to prove to the dealer that he had done all the recommended maintenance, when they tried to deny a warranty claim on the basis that the proper maintenance hadn't been done.
Why is everyone so damn ate up on MPG? It's a truck thats 3tons and shaped like the hind of an elephant. Buy a beater car if it's that big of a deal. and if you're towing 90% of the time, get a diesel.
I am the new owner of a hardly used CPO 2009 super crew 4.6 3v w 6spd tranny and took my first hwy trip today with about 95% hwy 5% off exits on mostly flat Florida interstate. I am still learning how particular speeds, a/c on a/c off impacts mpg. I ran mileage tests at the same mile markers both going and coming in the few hours the trip took averaging the two together (I got as much as 3mpg more in one direction versus the other). I can report that using the computer I am getting @60mph - 24.5mpg w/o ac, 23.7 w/ac; @65mph - 22.3mpg w/o ac, 21.6 w/ac; @70mph - 20.4mpg w/o ac, 20.2mpg w/ac. The outside temp was 73 degrees, humidity 60% wind at 11mph according to phone weather during trip. These figures were averaged between both directions. As I mentioned I had as much as 3 mpg at times between the two directions, I assume it was wind the mile markers and road were the same. This truck may not have the higher mileage potential of the ecos (wanted one but...) but it isn't too bad. Once I have more data I can give overall mileage figures based on odometer and actual fuel used. This confirms the EPA figure for 70mph. Basically @60 24mpg, @65 22mpg and @70 20mpg (all rounded) for the 4.6L 3v 6spd tranny rated 15/20 EPA. My city only mileage has been all over the place the past few weeks.

Not really sure. The truck has been pretty good mileage wise since the get go. I picked up about .5 mpg with the exhaust and CAI. I have seen no increase with the tuner. I have run 93 octane exclusively. It is also very warm here which should help as well just tooling down the highway. Our roads are pretty darn flat here and I usually run 250-300 miles at a time on the highway. From what I have seen on here there are quite a few Texas/OK/AR owners seeing really good mileage, and a lot north of the Mason Dixon not doing as well.
