You just said it worked on low speeds but, not 4... if the battery was dead it would not work at all... gezzz

Has anything been altered behind the control panel..Like a new stereo?
Sporadically working sounds like something loose. I'd do what Tech said, return the resistor,( correct resistor...positively?) try another. Then you can definitely check that off the list of possibilities.

Didn't say he had a dead battery. Said he might need to do a reset due to the possibility that the vehicle entered into Battery Save Mode. There is a BSM reset procedure that might correct the problem.
