Default not sure what to do

I am very close to buying a 2012 fx2 with luxury package but I just got through reading about some issues with the ac on some of these trucks. It seems like they dont cool as good as they should in hot weather. Since I live in South Carolina this could be a deal breaker for me. I would appreciate some input on this from anybody that has had issues, good or bad. Just so you know I had a 2010 lariat and really liked the truck but had issues with the ac not being cold enough. Took it to dealer and told within specs. Just want to know if things have changed or not. Thanks.

I am in Canada, but we do get hot up here in the summer, and I found the AC in my screw truck to be barely adequate. It was on Max AC all the time and it was just comfortable, certainly not cold.

I was less than impressed with a brand new trucks cooling ability.

Living in North Carolina I know of what you speak about hot, and humid. While the A/C on mine is not as cold as I would like, it does well for such a big cab space. Remember, the Government in it's infinite wisdom has mandated a change from the old style coolant to a new one that just ain't as good.

Same with me in Georgia... I have no complaints about my a/c at all and I was concerned since it was sterling and black leather. 2011 FX2 crew.

Mines a 2010 and the AC works great. No luxury package in my truck. Here in the Chicago area we have hot humid summers as well and mine cooled great even in a BLACK truck. Of course if its been sitting in the sun the AC takes a while to cool off the cabin, I'm sure it would be even better with any other color truck.

This.

I close my back seat vents and that seems to help a lot.

(Of course it's 4 degrees here today, so I didn't have to run the a/c too much)

Never had any issues the the AC cooling the cab either here in West Texas or over in East Texas. Granted it takes a few minutes, but usually after 5-10 minutes, I'm either turning the fan down or the temp up. Mines an '11 screw with heated seats only. Does the Lux package come with cooled seats? I can't remember. If it does I think you'll be golden.

Just my opinion, but to me it seems to cool better with Max AC off.
