I hate Chrome with a passion. Too much to keep clean, and I think it looks tacky. Chrome is usually the first thing to look terrible after 10 years also.

I wanted the XLT trim since it met my needs, but no dice. I would have settled for an STX, but needed a SuperCrew. Ended up with the FX4, and added more options than I needed. Couldn't be happier.

I also feel your pain. The deal on this one was too good to pass plus I had sold my other truck and was borrowing a vehicle which needed to be worked on daily so really I ran out of time. I added some FX4 18" wheels and now the truck looks better. Planning on a level and some better tires in the fall. I'm still not much for all the chrome but it has grown on me a bit.

Painting chrome bumpers is a pita. Like the other post said you have to sand blast and prep. You can get some vynle wrap just wrap them like i did. I also located some raptor FX2/FX4 tails and headlights to delete the rest of the chrome. Then painted the "F150" fender badges. Or you could plastidip the bumpers. After plastidip you can lay any paint over that you want. A local paint shop like PPG can take any oem paint and put it in a rattle can for you as well

So I ordered a low optioned FX4 instead.
1k!? My HD heads cost $10 as I painted them myself and the tails were $150 shipped.

X2. I didn't paint mine, i bought them. Then sold the stocks on Ebay. I forget which, but i broke even selling one pair (tails or heads i forget), and ended up paying $15 on the other.

So $15 total! With a little work on Ebay
