Default Noob Ring and Pinion question

Hey guys, pardon the elementary question, but I'm new at truck mechanics. I'll be adding larger wheels and tires to my '13 Screw in the near future. I'll be running at 34"-35" tire. My current gear ratio is 3.31. I'm afraid the truck would be really sluggish if I left it that way. I'm thinking of changing it to 4.56 gears. My question is, do I need an entire re-build kit or can I just buy the ring and pinion to swap out? The truck only has 25k miles. Thanks for you help!

Minimum is a minor install kit which is new shims and should be a crush sleeve (not to sure on these as I've never messed with these ford axles) and a bearing for pinion. I would recommend do a master install kit because why not when u got it torn apart. If u ever wanna do a traction aid now is the time as well. If you've never tried it b4 be patient and make sure you've got all the right tools b4 u start

You will need shims and a crush sleeve at a minimum and while there might as well switch the bearings too

These axles do use a crush sleeve, so you will need that. This isn't really a job for a beginner. I've seen a lot of experienced mechanics screw it up. It is NOT simply a matter of taking out the old gears and putting new ones in. Especially when changinging ratios. The contact pattern will most likley need to be corrected. Not correcting it will cause them to howl at best, or burn up your new gears at worst.

I have 32k mikes and just assume to buy the master kit. That way there is no pressure if it is determined something is needed.
