2011 XLT
I must say since the day i bought this truck the brights have never impressed me.
Sometimes when I forget to shut the brights off I can drive for 10 minutes without anyone flashing me.
Anyone else experience this?
Is it an aiming issue or just lame lights?

I do find that the lights point downward a little more then my previous vehicles, but I do think that the high beams are really bright, I get flashed all the time if I have them on.

I get flashed from 2 miles away! Maybe yours are improperly aimed.

I get flashed when I have my low beams on. I would agree that they must not be aimed properly.

F150 headlights are pretty terrible.

Ford is now using HID's on many of their models. It really seems a bit silly that they don't offer it as an option on their best selling vehicle. At least they could offer it as an incentive to purchase the super-high-margin trucks like the Platinum, Limited, Harley, King Ranch, etc. That way, the enthusiasts could just order the replacement parts! :-)

It really does **** me off that Ford spends time and money designing hideous new graphics, seat piping, and instrument panel for the 2012 on the FX4 and other such nonsense, but a truly functional, useful, and safety oriented upgrade like HID's escapes their attention.

+1

In stock form I was getting flashed all the time with low beams. When I installed my HID's I lowered them slightly and haven't had any problems since then. (except one time I had a pretty good package on and the truck was sagging in the rear, people didn't seem to like that )

I have noticed numerous idiots on the road that do not realize their brights are on in the city. You flash them and they are still oblivious...bah! On another note I have also never had a truck shop adjust my head lights after lifting my truck. I typically have to remind them to do it even after I told them to do it the day I drop off my ride.

Mine are just terrible. I've been watching and I don't see a bright spot indicating them being aimed high or low. I tried putting some high output bulbs in and that really didn't help much either. Was wondering if anybody tried taking the reflector off?
