No Confirmation Honk.
Hey guys starting about a week ago my truck no longer gives me the confirmation honk after hitting lock on the keyfob twice. Any ideas on what to look into? Wouldn't be a big deal other than my remote start won't work now also.

Do you have or did you recently have a CEL come on?

No CEL or anything. The only thing recently done to the truck was new plugs and an oil change.
Is there a hood switch? Could the tech have slammed the hood to hard and broke that. That's the only thing that i can think of to cause this.

Pull the positive and let it sit for 20min or so then give it a shot. My truck did this after I installed the latest sync update strange I know but after I pulled the power and hooked it back up it worked fine

If he has an open door (or hood), he should get a double honk, when he double presses the lock button on the keyfob.
The no honk is probably due to an issue with the BCM, hopefully just a glitch. Power cycling (disconnect negative terminal for 15 minutes) should fix it.
Otherwise, the issue is with the BCM and you might need to take the truck in to get it looked at.
Here is an excerpt from the manual:
Locking the Doors
- Press the button to lock all the doors. The turn signals will
illuminate.
- Press the button again within three seconds to confirm that all the doors
are closed. The doors will lock again, the horn will chirp and the turn
signals will illuminate if all the doors are closed.
Note:
If any door is not closed, or if the hood is not closed on vehicles
equipped with an anti-theft alarm or remote start, the horn will chirp
twice and the lamps will not illuminate

I'm pretty sure (at least on my truck) there is a setting where I can tell it to honk (or not) when I remote start ... it's a confirmation honk in case you're not able to hear the engine or see the marker lights flash to confirm the remote start.
I know mine is turned off now, but again, I'm pretty sure you CAN set it to honk on remote start (at least on some models).
FYI: I have a 2014 FX4 if that makes any difference.
