Default Next possible upgrade

Hi guys I have a stock 2014 F150 and wants to start with my first simple upgrade

I'm trying to choose between

1) Pedal Commander

2) Roush Cold Air intake... Does it require an exhaust upgrade along with this or is the air intake good enough?

Any advise. Would be really helpful.

Bone stock truck? What engine? What is your goal?

For what both of those cost, you would get a lot more bang for your buck with a full tuner. I would look into 5* or MPT, and keep an eye out for deals next week. I got my 5* tunes and SCT X4 through Stage 3 for less than the regular price of the X4. This was on a black Friday sale a few years ago.

Which engine do you have? I generally say that a CAI is worthless, but it especially is on the ecoboost. But no, you don't have to do the exhaust with a CAI but I'd say most folks do.

If you're looking for performance, start with a tuner. Regardless of engine, it's going to do the most for you.

I have a 5.0 2014 XLT

I'm not really looking at spending too much

The pedal commander is $300
The roush CAI is $272

I usually add one mod every 6 months so wanted to check which would would be a better investment from the 2 of them.

I used to have a 5 star tune on my raptor earlier but not looking at taking it to that level at the moment.

Neither will be worth much. As stated before start with a tuner and tune.

First simple upgrade: front door detents. IDK what they were thinking with those 2-stop detents on giant truck doors. These are amazingly useful EVERY time you open the door. http://www.northlightlabs.com/

Then some sort of reverse lights that can actually light up something behind you.

I 2nd the door detents. Don't realize how much you need them until you have them. Mind were $30 shipped from another seller no longer selling them. Best $30 I spent on my truck for sure

CAI is built into the truck from the factory, buying aftermarket only increases engine noise and degrades performance because it is now sucking in under hood HOT air. Exhaust will also not make any performance increase, just a different exhaust note so that's subjective. I love the way my truck sounds with the Magnaflow cat back I installed on it.

Custom tune is the best bang for the buck, it will increase performance and fuel economy which is actually a conundrum due to the increased power, you will be drunk by the fun to drive factor so much so your foot will have a hard time staying off the skinny pedal, at least that's been my experience.

i use a close cia box unit with four inch tube, it must be tuned and it will make a big different in power.
