Default Newbie on the drag strip... :)

Hey guys...

I've got a running bet going with a guy at work about who can pull a faster quarter mile time.

My 2011 F150 5.0 or his 2010 Subaru Forester...

The internet shows I've got over a second on him.

My question for you guys is, what should I be running to ensure I beat him bad? LOL

Manual shift?
2wd vs 4wd?

Remember I'm new to the track so take it easy on me

4WD...traction is everything. I'd leave it in Auto though. More room for error because shift points can make a big difference since different vehicles run out of power or build power at higher or lower RPMs

Hope it's not a forester 2.5 XT, you'll be driving back wondering what just happened

if the guy runs a 9 sec nova im willing to bet hes got an XT or a modified forester. don't get caught with your pants down, although at this point it may be too late to do anything about it.

an XT with turboback exhaust and a tune alone should run low-mid 13s, easily. 12s if he can drive
