I recently bought a 2013 STX with the 5.0. Its a beautiful truck which was incredibly maintained by it's previous owner. I'm really enjoying the truck and I'm wondering if there are any potential problem areas I need to be aware of.
Thanks!

You can get a lot of that from reading the stickies and the responses. That'd be the first place I would go for that answer, if you haven't already.

Glad you're enjoying your truck, hopefully it stays that way!

Probably one of the main potential problems would be the 5.0 ticking/knocking sound. There are tons of threads about it, as well as videos in those threads so you know what you're listening for.

You'd probably have noticed it by now though if you had it. The injectors are loud so it can be hard to differentiate between the sounds sometimes.

Honestly I think the biggest potential problem for you will be this site, lots of people claiming lots of different problems, some people start "hearing" said problems in their own trucks after reading about it. Every engine "ticks" the severity of it really differs. Yes some of them have a major tick, but lots of them don't have nothing at all, enjoy your truck.

Gotta remember people come here to talk about issues they have with their trucks. Very small percentage of the owners out there.

Rarely does one come here to praise their trucks.
