Hi, I'm new to this forum and am in the market for a F150. Thinking about a upscale 2010, 11, 12 Lariat, Platnum or King Ranch. Would prefer a used one to avoid the sticker shock. I'm considering the 3.5L but not sure if its worth it and I don't like getting something without a lot of history behind it. Is the 5.0L the ticket and are there anythings I should avoid?
Thanks

The 5.0 in the 2011 & 2012 is a new engine as well. So I guess that limits you to a 2010 I suppose....based off your criteria stated.

Nothing wrong with the 2010 and earlier, but the 2011 and newer are worth it in my opinion, if it fits your budget.

I bought the 5.0L with the thought it should be cheaper to buy and maintain over 100,000 miles for me. Also guessing that my 125-150k mile truck will be easier to sell in five years without two old (at that point) turbochargers hanging off of it.

Now, if I had to heavy tow frequently I would have bought the 3.5tt.

Just my two cents.

Loving my 5.0! The new engines are all great. From the 3.7 to 6.2 each one fits different needs and life styles.
