As far as trail grapplers go... They are M/T tires and they are quiet compared to most M/Ts. So I hope you would buy the tires for what they are and should expect at least a little hum with them. So comparing to an A/T is not really practical considering you should not have any hum with those anyway. Just my two cents and a heads up for people who go strictly off of looks and do not expect a little sacrifice

P.S. I've had Terra Grapplers and they were awesome for an A/T and still had a bit of an aggressive look to them.

Starting off with the standard 18 inch chromies I was feeling if I'm going to buy aftermarket wheels I might as well go big. Big mistake.
I'm not going to say I hate the wide 33's but right now from driving on ice everyday back and forth has gotten rather annoying. The power and mpg loss is also starting to take a toll on my pocket book.
If I could do it all over again I'd buy raptor take offs. .... or get rid of the trail grapplers.
Wanna sell the entire set up?

the weight of the tire and rims is what kill you!!

you have check that out first, I went from 275/55/20 - 31.9"

to my New BFG Rugged Terrian T/A's 34.1" 275/65/20 - 34.1"

and was onlt 5lbs difference in each tire, went from 48lbs stock to BFG 53lbs

People are liking the Duratracs ....Im noticing....and the BFG Rugged's like I have

I wouldn't say its the hum that annoys me, it is just the weight of them for sure. Went for a road trip yesterday and on these roads in ND these are some rough riding sons of B haha I set the cruise at 60 and was getting around 16 MPG on the way home. Otherwise combined it was around 12. Keep in mind this all around -10 to 20 degree weather with the truck idling and warming up 3 times a day.

I actually made a thread on it I have a few Youtube videos, I would call it a love it or hate it with the 4 inch. It's loud I can hear it start up in my house whenever I hit the autostart so that's a plus now..
But I'd say I like it. I feel like its addicting with the aFe stage 2 to always hear them. Its a fun truck.

OP,
First off, those wheels look awesome! Second, I know what you mean about ride and MPG. LT tires ride rough and heavy tires kill MPG (So does remote start in winter, but I ain't giving either up ). I am in upstate NY and my MPG is worse by 3 MPG in winter due to the crummy winter blend fuel and remote start.

When I went with my 34.5" tires, I did the Rancho quicklevel kit. The 9000 series shocks that came with it have adjustable dampening that allows you to soften up the ride a bit.

The MPGs go down with heaver tires, I lost about 1-1.5 mpg going to 275/70 R18, and about 2-2.5 going to 295/70 R18 tires. If it bothers you, get a set of 275/60 R20 P Rated tires. They should be much lighter than what you have on now, and I wouldn't be surpised if you get back to OEM MPG with them. P-rated means they will also ride like stock.

My original plan was to buy the quicklevel but I went a little deeper into research and the adjustability ended up scaring me out of them. I wanted something I could set and forget.
