To add to bb37's post, please read all the rules and information provided from the website www.fordpartners.com. You will need your companies code to access this site. You will learn alot by taking a little time and reading.

According to the website, the dealer is to provide you a copy of the invoice that shows Xplan pricing. You will have to request the copy because they will not volunteer to provide you a copy. This is Ford Motor Co. rules and the dealer has to abide by the rules. If not, call Ford and plead your case. If you have this, then you know that there will be no question as to the Xplan price. (I actually did request a copy of this when I bought my truck a week ago and it was provided).

Now for the trade in value. The dealer offered you 11,000 with possible 1000 adjustment. To me that is your only concern and only holdup on the deal. If you can feel comfortable in a slight reduction in your original trade in offer, then maybe go for it. But no way would I take a 9000 offer. If talks break down, give them your phone number and tell them to call if they change their mind. BE PATIENT and don't call them. I know you have already waited long enough and want your new truck, BUT it would be to your interest to take it slow and give this a lot of thought.

Don't let the salesman confuse you and don't let yourself be confused. It sounds like the salesman keeps tossing out bottom-line numbers without giving you any idea how he's getting there.

Remain calm.

Go to the dealership. Meet with the salesman and his manager. Have them show you on paper a breakdown of how they are coming up with their numbers. You need to know the invoice price or X Plan price of the vehicle, the exact incentives that apply (which you can get from Ford's web site), and the value of your trade.

And I gotta say something here. You are spending a ton of money on a new truck and it's going to depreciate a ton in the first year you own it. Is a $52,000 truck really what you need right now? Are you going to be able to set up financing that will keep you from getting upside down? Would you be better off lowering your expectations a bit? Your finances are your business, but I hate to see anybody get in over their head.

Thanks for all of your replies. I think i would have been fine with everyting if he said we'll honor your trade. It just struck a cord when he tried to b ack down not a $1,000 but $2,000 off the trade. It made me think he got caught with an overallowance on my trade, and now is scrambling to make it up and acting like he doesn't know anyting about X plan and trying to pull wool over my eyes. That is why i'm on here trying to find out from you experts!!

That is good advice. I'm a pretty calm person. I gotta be when I'm in sales myself!

And yes it is an overindulgence, but I can afford it. I own my business so there are ways to buy a truck like this - even though if I was smart I would buy something that will make me money! But in all honestly. I' ve been good about my finances and I ran the wheels off all of my other vehicles! Just building my "dream" truck.

Could it also be that the incentives have changes also in that time frame? So he lost some of the money he was gonna lose to play with the trade amount

I stand corrected.

Not that it matters, but like alot of guys on here I was told 6-8weeks. It turned into 3 1/2 months. Just felt like 4 1/2 I guess!

+1

We started shopping at one dealership and the sales guy got all excited when he learned I qualified for x-plan pricing. They could save me about $600 by using X-plan!

Another dealer on the exact same truck dismissed my X-plan because they started below X-plan. Factor in the $1k more they offered for the trade-in and the fact that they were willing to lock-in the rebates and it was kind of a no-brainer who to go with.

Only thing we couldn't get was the $750 coupon that showed up a week after we ordered. We had to take the March rebates without the coupon or the April rebates with the $750 coupon and March w/o coupon was better. Should have requested a brochure sooner!

i have to agree with the previous post right above me. two dealers within 75 miles of me will advertise 9k off their trucks. i know everyone says no way . however they are taking the incentives or rebates that ford offers and then adding their own discount of 4k to it. that's what they are taking off the truck as soon as you walk into the door. may not leave alot of wiggle room when you get inside. but you know going into it what you are getting off the truck. im sure their advertisement has went down since the incentives dropped. but give the gas prices some time to go up and parts from japan or other places to start rolling back in. The rebates will go back up! I hope
