Yikes!!
I went and got my rotors turned about 1,500 miles ago, and they are starting to get rough again, sigh. Looks like I'll be getting the rotors and pads above here fairly soon. What a bunch of b.s.

I think it's okay to acknowledge that brake pad "residue build up" theory does exist. Except when that theory is applied to the constant vibration issues related to the f150's front brake set-up.
Our front rotors warp. Why...They are Too Small in diameter and Too Thin in width.
If you truly baby it, and or hardly work it. Yes, you can probably get to a reasonable mileage before requiring service.
While those of us who either; work them daily, drive a little harder than normal or combine both frequently, will find ourselves, standing at a parts counter, or online, purchasing new rotor's and or pads, by 15,000 miles. Without fail, due to them warping or vibrating from build up.
Is that safe to say now?

The OEM brakes aren't what they should be. Doesn't matter if it's pad material being implanted into the rotor surface or the rotors actually warping. The resulting fix is the same. Surface the rotors or replace the rotors along with new pads. If someone would be a dial indicator on their rotor and spin it we could likely get a determination if its one or the other causes. I have a dial indicator, didn't both or waste the time. The aftermarket stuff available, is better than the OEM IMHO when evaluation simple brake performance.
The sad thing about the OEM brakes is that my last truck at 125k miles didn't have the brakes serviced once. OEM rotors and pads.
There shouldn't be anything 30% of owners can do to their trucks to "cause" this vibration. This should have been addressed in the OEM in their extreme durability testing and certification.
My OEM brakes started vibrating at 4k miles. I Elvis'd them at 8k miles. I put the PowerStop Z23 sport kit on and never looked back.

I installed these on mine a couple of weeks ago. These weigh the same as stock I weighed them both before installing all of them. Actually they were just barely a little less than stock but my scales only read in tenths. So far I like them but I went with the z36 and they don't stop as well as stock when cold but stop better when they get some heat in them.
