My 2013 STX 4x4 is in need of a new PCM. The truck is with the dealer who tells me they can’t locate a new one. It’s disappointing but I kind of buy the excuse since I’ve read about the recent chip shortages going so far as to halt production lines of Mustangs, F150s etc.

Anyone else have this issue and if so, were you able to source a new or even used PCM somewhere?

 

Check eBay and your local junk yards.

 

+1 on the junkyard. Ford Tech Makuloco did a video on YouTube on getting a junkyard PCM instead of going to the dealership. You can "trick" the computer into thinking it's the original PCM and uploading the as built data into it. It's beyond me, but I don't think the dealer will do this based on video and comments within. An able shop probably would.
